"The Lemnos' Friends of ANZAC" Association participated in the commemorative events for the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Crete,at Chania from 21-24th of May We participated with the presence of members of the Board of our Association, wanting to show everyone, that historical memory should be kept alive and at the same time to create a complete enhancement of the role of ANZACs (Australian -New Zealand Army Corps) during both the First World War and the Second World War. The Anzacs were in Crete in 1941, as in Lemnos in 1915 and as in many other areas of our country, supporting common ideas of freedom and common visions of a more better world.
It is our duty to preserve and further develop our common country's relations with its allies over the years, proving and showing the youngest of all countries those common relationships .While these memories show us a road now It must be our only desire, the way of peace.
